What if I want to change/cancel my trip?
- If you wish to change or cancel your flight for any reason, you may do so up to 60 days before your scheduled departure time. However, an airline fee of $215 will be charged per person if you do so. The full deposit and visa fee ($150) will be returned to you.
- The airline will charge a fee ($215 per person) for changes made up to 45 days before your flight departure date.
- Tour fees and visa costs are not refundable within 45 days of your flight.
- It is not possible to cancel your flight once you have changed the date.
- There will be exceptions if there is proof of a serious illness or death.

Mainland Yemen can be reached via Salalah, Oman, or Al Wadiah Saudi Arabia Land Port. Where Yemenia Airlines offers a weekly return flight from Cairo to Seiyun International Airport. This is the cheapest means of reaching Socotra Island.

Is Socotra and Mainland Yemen safe?
Since Socotra has been out of conflict for a substantial period, it is a safe destination for travelers. Socotra has never been affected by the civil war. Yemen's mainland (geographic region of Hadhramaut) is the safest and most stable governorate in Yemen, and Hadhramaut is the only part of mainland Yemen that tourists can visit, along with our armed escort team and police escorts if required.

What are the Yemeni Visa requirements and policies to travel Socotra Island and mainland Yemen?
We require you to send us a scanned copy of your passport photo page once you have booked your tour. In the following days, we will email you a scanned copy of your visa 15 days before your scheduled arrival date. You will be able to retrieve your original visa from our team who will be waiting for you at the airport or Yemeni land border.
What about accommodation in Socotra Island?
In our itinerary, eco-campsites (single tents) are included, as well as other accommodation options requested by our clients, at an additional charge. Here is a list of hotels that are available in Hadibo, the capital of Socotra Island.

Hotel Summerland:
There is only one luxury hotel available with modern room amenities, such as air conditioning, television, refrigerator, microwave, private bathroom, room service, and laundry ($100 per night for one person).

Hotel Jewel Socotra:
Standard hotel with air conditioning, television, private toilets, room service, and laundry services ($40 per night for one person).
The majority of eco-campsites have toilets and showers except for one eco-composite that does not have toilets but we have our special portable toilet.
What about food?
Fresh ingredients from the island are selected to prepare three meals a day to ensure high-quality service. This island is popular for several reasons. Foods available on the island include fresh seafood, lamb stew, fried chicken, grilled tuna, rice, Arabian flatbread, local bread, mixed salads, potatoes, carrots, onions, garlic, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggs, pasta, beans, peas, honey, jam, cheese, and chocolate. A variety of drinks are also available on the island, including tea, coffee, soft drinks, and bottled water.
Fruits and vegetables are grown on the island, including apple, orange, banana, papaya, and guava. We strive to serve you the highest quality food possible in the area we visit. Don't miss out on the opportunity to eat fresh fish every day!

What about the Internet?
Although there is internet access in the capital of Socotra Island, Hadibo, most of our tours are held in eco-campsites and therefore are limited to using the hotspot of our tour guide, which is available in a limited number of locations. A SIM card for Etisalat can be obtained easily from the UAE airport. Only 3G is available, which is sufficient for sending emails and sending messages, but streaming and downloading are not possible. Clients who require high-speed internet access choose hotel accommodations.
What about charging of devices?
A power bank is recommended for your travels. Additionally, our vehicles are equipped with USB ports that can be used to charge your mobile devices.
Money & currency exchange?
The USD is the most commonly accepted foreign currency and is easily converted into Yemeni Rail with the best rates. Make sure you have enough cash with you. There is no ATM on Socotra, however, you may be able to receive international transfers through (Money Gram) and (Western Union) in Hadibo, the capital of the island.
What is the appropriate attire I should wear in public and how I should conduct myself in Yemeni society?
Visitors to Yemen are required to dress in a manner that enables them to blend with the society as both men and women wear conservative clothing. The men should wear shirts that cover their shoulders and long pants or wear Yemeni traditional dresses that can be purchased from local markets upon arrival. The dress code for women is strictly black (Abaya and Niqab), which can be purchased on arrival in Salalah, Oman, or from Cairo if traveling through Cairo. (black Abaya and Niqab required in Mainland Yemen only not for Socotra).
What is the best time to visit Socotra Island and Mainland Yemen?
The best time to visit Socotra from September to May. The months June, July and August are monsoon season and windy.
And Mainland Yemen can be visited the whole year except holy Ramadan month (Ramadan is the 9th month in the Islamic lunar calendar).

There is no specified drone rule in Yemen where traveler can bring his drone but he has to respect the privacy of public and private residences as well airport.
