Day 1 - Salalah (Oman) - Al Ghaydah (Yemen)
At a pre-arranged meeting point in Salalah, Oman, you will meet our guide for the whole journey. He will accompany you for the entire journey and you will cross the Yemeni borders to arrive at our first destination, Al Ghaydah. After checking into our hotel, we will visit the local market to gain a better understanding of the area. During the night, we will be staying in Al Ghaydah.
Day 2 - Al Ghaydah - Mukalla
During the early morning hours, we will drive along the coast of the Arabian Sea to Mukalla, the capital of the Hadhramaut Governorate. We will stop at fishing villages along the way to take photographs. To experience local culture, we will have lunch with a Hadhrami family when we arrive in Mukalla around lunchtime. It is necessary to separate males and females in this regard for cultural reasons. There will be no discrimination between men and women when eating, however, Yemen is a gender-segregated society. At the end of the day, we will be visiting Mukalla Market and historical buildings in the evening. As a final step, we will spend the night in Mukalla.
Day 3 - Mukalla - Wadi Doa’n, Hayd Aljazeel resort
We will enjoy the stunning scenery of Wadi Doa'n Valley (also known as Dawan Valley) during a morning drive. One of the most popular tourist attractions in this region is Hayd Aljazeel village, which is located on rocky cliffs. On top of the cliffs are mud-brick houses. At the Hayd Aljazeel resort, there will be a check-in process upon arrival. Hayd Aljazeel resort offers panoramic views of the village of Hayd Aljazeel from its infinity pool, which overlooks the canyon of Wadi Doa'n. Through the lunch program, the Rahab family will facilitate an understanding of intercultural relations in Wadi Doa'n as well as provide an opportunity for interaction with the local population. Buqshan's colorful palace is the next stop on our itinerary. In Wadi Doan, Hayd Aljazeel Resort provides accommodations for guests.
Day 4 - Wadi Doa’n - Shibam
After breakfast, we will drive to Al-Hajarayn, a historic town with a rich history. It is in this town built on rocky cliffs and constructed of mud bricks that we will have lunch with a local family from Al-Hajarayn. This will enable us to understand intercultural interaction. Our next stop is the Old Walled City Shibam, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is the most important attraction on our tour. The Sunset over Manhattan of the Desert will be seen from Yemen's ancient skyscraper city Shibam. We will be staying at the Hotel Seiyun for the night.
Day 5 - Seiyun, Shibam and Tarim
Today will be an extraordinary experience, a cross-cultural exchange. After returning to Shibam, we will look at the city. An ideal time and place to purchase souvenirs is at this stop. Our next destination will be Tarim, an Islamic city constructed of mud bricks. Upon arriving in Tarim, we will have lunch with a local Tarimi family. This will enable us to gain a deeper understanding of the local community's customs and traditions. During the tour, we will visit Al-Muhdhar Mosque, one of the world's most famous mosques. The Minaret Muhdhar, standing 50 meters high, has become Tarim's iconic symbol. A mud-brick building, the Minaret Muhdhar stands high. During our excursion, we will watch the sunset from a viewpoint overlooking Tarim. We will spend the night at Hotel Seiyun.
Day 6 - Seiyun- Mukalla
This day we will head back to Mukalla city where we will stop several times to take photos. Upon arrival we check into our hotel then we proceed to explore Mukalla city in depth where we will visit Al Mukalla historical museum as well Al Mukalla market. We get back early to hotel to ready for early morning flight to Socotra. Over night at Al Mukalla hotel.
Day 7 - Mukalla - Socotra – Aomak White Sand Dunes
Take a flight from Mukalla to Socotra. When you arrive in Socotra, our team will greet you and drive you to Aomak Beach. Here, you can swim, sunbathe, and relax. Upon arriving at Aomak Beach, we will visit Dagub Cave followed by a hike to the highest point to see breathtaking views of the white dunes of Hayf and Zahek. Our overnight stay is at Aomak Beach, where we will have a spectacular sunset view.
Day 8 - Diksam Dragon Blood Trees & Fermhin Forest
The day begins with an early morning swim and sunbathing at AOMAK's white sandy beach, followed by breakfast and a trip to DIKSAM Plateau. DIKSAM Plateau is the home of impressive endemic species of Dragon Blood trees (Dracaena Cinnabari), the iconic symbol of Socotra Island. Hiking along the mountainside will allow you to enjoy panoramic views of DIKSAM Canyon, where you will encounter an incredible environment with dragon's blood trees that will make unforgettable memories. We will then descend into Wadi Derhur to swim in freshwater pools after having lunch under the shade of Dragon's Blood Trees. Under the stars, we will have dinner and camp.
Day 9 - Qalansiya - Detwah Lagoon
As we begin our day in the morning, we make our way to the west of the island, where we explore the fisherman's settlement of Qalansiya, the second settlement on the island. You can swim, sunbathe, and enjoy the ultimate in relaxation in the stunning marine protected area of Detwah Lagoon with turquoise waters. This excursion will take you to the highest point of Detwah Lagoon, which offers stunning views and a variety of vibrant marine life. At the lagoon of Detwah, we will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 10 - Shoab Beach/Dolphins & Coral Reef at Dihamri
Upon the rising of the sun, we will be heading to one of the world's most beautiful beaches on a fishing boat operated by a local fisherman. During the trip, spinner dolphins will be sought as well as seabirds flying alongside the boat. As soon as we arrive at SHOAB, you will have the opportunity to swim in the turquoise crystal water and explore the pristine natural beauty of the area. After lunch, we return to our camp at Detwah Lagoon. We will then drive to Dihamri Marine Protected Coral Reserve, where you can enjoy diving, snorkeling, and exploring coral reefs or arrange to go fishing with local fishermen. At Dihamri, you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 11 - Klissan River & Arher Twin White Dunes
As part of our morning excursion, we drive to Wadi Kalesan, one of the island's most scenic canyons with a wide diversity of endemic flora species surrounded by a white craggy rock formation. It will take us 45 minutes to hike downhill. You will enjoy swimming and jumping from the ledges into crystal clear natural swimming pools at Wadi Kalesan, which is known for its natural clear water turquoise swimming pools. Upon returning from lunch, we will travel to Archer, an unusual site where fresh water meets salt water, where water flows from a cave creating a natural phenomenon surrounded by giant dunes of white sand. A car ride will then take us to Ras Ersil, where the Arabian Sea meets the Indian Ocean while we observe the sunset. Tents will be provided at the beach of Archer for overnight accommodation.
Day 12 - Homhil Protected Area (Infinity Pool)
During this trip, we will drive to the Homhil protected area wadi Al Shefa. This reserve is distinguished by a variety of endemic species, including dragon's blood trees, bottle trees, and frankincense. This gives an impressive natural display. During our trek, we will ascend one hour to reach a high viewpoint offering a panoramic view of the entire southern part of the island. We will have access to a crystal clear infinity swimming pool. Following the launch downhill, we will visit the Socotra Folklore Museum and then continue our journey to our camp in Archer. At Archer, we will spend the night camping.
Day 13 - Arher - Hoq’s Cave - Delisha Beach
Obtain breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean as you climb the twin giant dunes before sunrise. Next, you can swim in the sea or rinse in freshwater springs from a cave on Archer Beach. We then eat breakfast and proceed to Hoq's cave. Following lunch, we will proceed to Delisha Beach to establish our camp and then drive to Hadibo to explore the local market and purchase some local products, such as Socotri honey and souvenirs. Delisha camp is where you will spend the night.
Day 14 - Socotra Hadibo - Mukalla - Salalah (Oman)
Visit the local market of Hadibo to purchase souvenirs and local products as Socotri honey then we will proceed to the airport for your departure after a quick city tour of Hadibo. We have reached the end of our journey on Socotra taking flight to Mukalla then we will drive to Salalah, Oman .
